Two questions that all of us need to answer: What gift has God given you? And how are you using those gifts to build God’s kingdom? We asked a few of our KGF family members why they have chosen to use their spiritual gifts to bless others. Here’s the experience from Shelley Simpson on our Compassionate Care Meals team.
When I came on board as a coordinator for the Compassionate Care team, it was not necessarily because I felt exceptionally gifted in the kitchen. Meatloaf is not my forte. Rather, I thought that I could apply my gifts of connecting and planning and leaning in with gentle support.
Being a part of a team that loves our church family in such a tangible way has proven to be a gift in my life. I’m blessed over and over again by our team of volunteers who quickly respond to the needs of others, who know that a ready to eat, home-cooked meal offers love and support and lightens the burdens of those we have the opportunity to serve.
