Christmas @ KGF

christmas_series_title_slide-1Welcome to Christmas at KGF!  This weekend we begin our look at “Christmas Surprises”.

When you think about it, much of what happened surrounding the birth of Jesus can be classified as a surprise.  How he came.  Where he came.  Who was there for his arrival.  True, the Messiah was predicted for generations, and prophecies find their incredible fulfillment in Jesus.  But for the next three weeks, we want to turn our attention to some of the beautiful surprises that God blessed us with at Christmas.

This Sunday we look at Jesus’ family tree.  Maybe your tree is a bit “crooked” with a branch missing here or there.  When you look at the genealogy of Jesus in Matthew 1, you realize afresh that our God is a God who chooses to use the unexpected.  That’s good news for you and me!

December will be an exciting month.

December 5th - Christmas Surprises Part 1 - Who God Uses

December 12th - Christmas Surprises Part 2 - Baptism & Membership Sunday

December 19th - Christmas Surprises Part 3 - Kids Christmas program, Volunteer Appreciation Sunday

December 24th - Christmas Eve Services, 4:00 and 6:00pm.  Would you pray and watch for opportunities to invite those who have no church home to join us for this great evening?

December 26th - Our leadership board has made a decision to give all our leaders and volunteers and staff a break on Sunday December 26th.  Christmas is a very busy season, and we highly value family time, so we want to back that up by blessing people to be with their families!  We will not be having a church service that Sunday morning, but will be providing a devotional opportunity for you at home.

January 2nd - We kick off the new year together by reminding ourselves that God is the God of second chances and new beginnings!

May this Christmas season once again bring you to the heart of God’s plan for Salvation, begun at the foundations of the world, incarnate in an animal feeding trough, nailed to a wooden cross, and victorious over a grave that couldn’t hold him!  It’s Jesus!  What a reason to celebrate, and be reminded that you are so loved!
