Family Update - October 7, 2009

October is here, and it’s beautiful. The air is crisp, routine is back, and yet the sun still shines. How privileged we are to live in the Okanagan!
Wanted to keep you up to date on what’s been happening in and around KGF.
Concert of Prayer / Worship Night – October 7th
Join Josh Smith & Mike Penninga and others for an intimate time of prayer and worship. These evenings are wonderful for filling empty tanks and bringing life’s challenges and needs to God. Join us Wednesday at 7pm in the auditorium.
Ladies Mission Circle – October 8th
A great place to serve in practical ways, this group makes blankets for people in need oversees. Every other Thursday from 9:30 – 2:00pm.
Bluegrass Jam – October 9th
If you love bluegrass music, come on out this Friday, 7pm in the Fireside Room for a great evening.
Thanksgiving Sunday – October 11th
Because of potential driving delays due to the Okanagan International Marathon, we are switching our coffee time to before the service, 9 – 10am. So plan to leave the house really early and then join us for a time of connecting before the service. Look at a map of the race online here: Don’t hit any runners on your way to church
Turkey Bowl Football Game – October 12th
Come out and work off the turkey meals in a fun, co-ed, flag football game. Everyone welcome. Thanksgiving Monday, 1 – 3pm at the Mission Sports Fields behind the H20 Center.
Vision Days – October 17 & 31st
This series in Acts is preparing us for our two vision days at KGF, Saturday October 17th & 31st, 9am – 4pm (lunch provided). We would love for you to join us as together we pray, study, dream and plan what God might have in store for this family of believers. Together We Can – October 18th
As you are probably aware, we are is in the middle of an exciting capital fundraising campaign called “Together We Can”. We are targeting 3 projects with 2 spin-off effects and 1 overall goal, raising $25,000. Renovations and upgrades to the Kitchen, updates to our Kids Ministry Wing, and the purchase of a Video Recording system for the auditorium are the areas we are planning to invest in. Our big fundraising lunch is Sunday October 18th, noon in the gym. You can give on a one-time basis, or through pledge forms over the coming three months until the end of 2009.
