Week 8 was filled to capacity with energetic pre-teen campers. We had a great week with a lot of fun had by all. It was the final Encounter week, with teen H2O. The weather was fantastic and the group enjoyed a different water activity every day.

Of the 152 campers from both camps, there were 47 first time decisions, and 71 recommitments. We are grateful for the Spirit's work.

As we complete our final week of summer camp 2011, we covet your prayers to finish strong. Staff are getting tired, please pray for energy, safety and protection and continued work of the Spirit in the hearts of all our campersand staff.

One of our own, Kirsten Vogt, shares this update on her experience at Gardom this summer:

What an amazing summer I have been able to have. Some people have never had the experience of being at camp, and I have been lucky enough to be a part of it for the past 4 months.  Every week there was a new group of campers, and each week Gods work was so evident. There has been many new commitments and rededications this summer, and those decisions are what made this summer worth it. Not only do the campers get to experience the work of the Lord, but so do our staff.

Being in my role as Head Female Cabin Leader, has been such a blessing. All of the cabin leaders are so passionate for the Lord and love working with the kids. It was so great to be able to have that confidence in them, and to see God working through them. Camp has been a real stretching and learning process for me. I am so thankful for all the work that God did this summer, and am so glad that I had the opportunity to be a part of Gardom Lake.  I want to thank you all for your prayers and support this summer. I am blessed to call KGF my home church.
