As many of the KGF family knows, a team of 11 UBCO students and I are heading to Bolivia May 4th to participate in various volunteer projects for a month. We will be stationed near La Paz for most of our month and plan to come alongside local community development initiatives as volunteers. At the moment, and subject to Latin American time, our itinerary is very flexible, but our first volunteer project will be helping out at the San Miguel del Bala Ecolodge (http://www.sanmigueldelbala.com/).
As an International Relations major, I am very excited to travel to the Global South for the first time and be impacted by the people, culture, and life there. The opportunity to then come back home and share my experiences, nurtures my passion for global community and awareness.
I am very thankful to everyone at KGF who has generously supported me by donating bottles, buying pies, and various other contributions and donations. I am very grateful and without your support this trip would not have been possible. Prayers for the maintenance of health and safety would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much KGF family! I look forward to sharing my experiences with you when I return.
