Kettle River Camping Weekend
More than 100 of our KGF family spent the weekend camping at Kettle River Provincial Park near Rock Creek. . . It was a great time of connecting and relationship building. We are posting photos here: and also on our Facebook account here: so feel free to add yours! Also, Tavis has put together a video that is online here:
Here's a report from Jane Sigurdson of her and Gus' experience this weekend, thanks Jane!
We were two out of lots of ppl at the camp out. Friday it rained and it was cool but it gave us tenters a chance to huddle around the little stove in the common area to warm up and get to know each other. We enjoyed ourselves even in the rain. Gus and i were the second family to show up. Mosquitos of course had first dibs on where they were going to be..on me...they love me..i have mosquito bites on top of mosquito bites. Saturday we had sun shine off and on and it drizzled rain.
I personally had a great time in getting to know so many ppl i only see at a distance on sunday or are very busy with family you dont get a reall chance to visit with them. The walk along the kettle valley rail line was awesome. Yes the river is very high and rushing. I did take our dog Asia down to it to get a drink and i thought she would jump right in...Asia was very good with all the children that wanted to see her and pet her. I of course had to hold her back because she got excited that she had friends coming over to see her..lol. Asia made one puppy friend, Choco..she played hard with her and today she is still sleeping.
Singing around the campfire brought back memories of my past with my family. And it was just fun..thanks Bill for leading us. You did a great job. Sunday morning at 10 we all gathered around for a worship service. Thanks to those who lead it was a beautiful time in the Lord..and with our new found friends, family of KGF. We came home exhausted and having lots to do to unpack and yet we said..we need to do this again next year.
Thanks to Lori and Jay who set it up...their hard work was worth it...Next year i would love to see everyone out there...its great to be in the outdoors, enjoying what God has put together for us...His creation... I am enclosing some pics for you to see how much fun we had.
Jane
PS: Gus and Bill tried their hand at fishing but with no luck.
