KGF Board Vision Retreat @ Big White

KGF Board RetreatOur KGF Board spent August 27th & 28th at Big White to pray and plan through this upcoming ministry season at KGF.  It was an exciting time, and you can see photos here.  We asked Linda Wiens, our board secretary, to write her thoughts, and these are them:

The ride up to Big White is a steady climb.  At times the road is straight and you can see for miles ahead and at other times the road twists and turns causing you to slow down and navigate the road more cautiously.  You are not always aware of the elevation changes as you drive.  And then you reach your destination.  You turn and look out towards the east and the view is breathtaking.  This is what the journey has been about.

As a group of people we comprise the church board and have been given the awesome task of focusing on what God wants to do in our midst.  We want to know Jesus and make Him known to others.  We want to grow His church.  The 24 hours we spent together listening, discussing, praying, eating good food and visiting brought an awareness that God is at work.  We need to keep looking to Him as we navigate the growth issues.

Most of us knew our way to Big White and had been there before.  Not like the journey we are on at KGF.  We will trust Him as we approach the corners, proceeding cautiously as we consider hiring more staff, slowing down to hear about the possible limitations of our space.  In the straight stretches we will encourage others in the community with our gifts, we will continue at a steady speed as we give of our time and resources to our children.

On the uphill we will anticipate what is ahead and the downhill will bring joy as the way continues to open before us.  And God in His goodness will lead and bless and continue to bring the lost to Himself and we will know that this is what the journey was about.
