KGF in 2010!

Happy New Year KGF church family!

It’s 2010!  I love saying that.  This is going to be an amazing year, and a great decade!  I hope and pray you had a restful time over the holidays and are excited for what God has in store in this next chapter.

We wanted to launch the New Year right, with a church wide concert of prayer / worship night Wednesday January 6th, 7 – 8:30pm in the auditorium.  If you haven’t been to one of these, I believe you will be blessed to experience an intentional time of individual and corporate prayer and worship.

This Sunday, January 10th, is an important Sunday in the life of KGF, as we look ahead to where we sense God is leading us in 2010.  I am going to take the morning to lay out some of the plans and dreams that we are praying about for this year.  You’ll have a chance to jump on board as well, so encourage you to be there.

GleanersWe are heading back down to theOkanagan Gleaners in Oliver on Saturday January 16th for a day of soup mixing.   KGF sent 40 people down in June to be a part of a day of food processing, and now, we get to see the finished product.  For two weeks in January the Gleaners mix together all the elements we cut & dried over the year, into 6 million servings of  soup that is then sent oversees to people in need!  It's an incredible experience, a true human assembly line.  We have room for people of all ages to join us, meeting at the church at 7:15am and carpooling to Oliver, coming back by 4:15pm.  Sign up by emailing You can check out photos from our first trip on our website here:

Our next series begins January 17th, and is called “Ordinary Heroes – Common People. . . Uncommon God.” The Bible is full of ordinary men and women who lived extraordinary lives because they were surrendered to the will of God.  KGF will be unpacking 10 such individuals, five on the weekend services, and five in our Life Groups, during the months of January & February.  You can sign up for one of our Life Groups that meet weekly in homes around Kelowna, starting week of January 17th.  Emailoffice@kgfchurch.comor call 250-763-6553.

Many of you have been asking about our next baptism / membership class. It will be taking place Sunday January 17th, from 7 – 9pm in the Fireside Room.  If you have never been baptized, this is an important step of obedience, and I encourage you to come and find out more.  If you’ve been coming to KGF for a while, this is your chance to say “count me in!”  Baptism / Membership Sunday is February 7th.
