Living Beyond Ourselves Event - Amazing Success!
This event took place Thursday, Nov. 17th, and far exceeded any hopes or expectations we had! The atmosphere was electric – both with excitement, and with an overwhelming sense of God’s Presence, His goodness and faithfulness! It was difficult not to smile, because everyone was so clearly enjoying themselves! What an honor and privilege to pour God’s love into the lives of our guests! Photos online here:
Approximately 200 women from our church/community participated in our 1st event, showcasing local and global organizations committed to justice and mercy. There was an abundance of delicious multicultural food, including fresh sushi crafted by our local Japanese Market! And the fair-trade shopping centres were humming all evening! We were even given tips on how we can be “EcoChic”!
Did we accomplish our goals? Did we raise awareness of needs in our world today? Did we offer hope and dignity to those in extreme poverty, those who are voiceless and marginalized? Were women challenged to make even small changes in their lives in order to share what they’ve been blessed with? Were connections made and relationships revitalized? Was our community served? Our guests can give you the best answer!
We had an incredible team of volunteers who literally radiated the love of Jesus to everyone who came! Joy was written all over their faces! A lot of hard work went into the evening, but no one would say it wasn’t worth it! We all had a blast! Thank you so much for so willingly helping out!
