Operation Christmas Child - Shoeboxes!

OCCslide_blank1With Christmas being just around the corner, we are so excited to once again be the host church for the Central Okanagan's Operation Christmas Child campaign!  Operation Christmas Child is a fun, simple hands-on project of Samaritan’s Purse that anyone can participate in.

Each gift-filled shoe box is used to bless the life of a child living in a desperate situation. When culturally appropriate, children are also offered “The Greatest Gift of All,” an illustrated storybook in their local language explaining how God sent his only son. Children can learn more about having a personal relationship with Jesus through a voluntary discipleship program that is offered.

Watch Derek & Matt introduce the campaign here at KGF.

In 1993, Franklin Graham, International President of Samaritan’s Purse, adopted Operation Christmas Child as a project of the ministry. Samaritan’s Purse first delivered gift-filled shoe boxes to children in war-torn Bosnia and since then more than 70 million shoe box gifts have brought a message of hope, joy and love to children in over 130 countries. Last season, 800,000 shoe boxes were collected in Canada and distributed to children in more than 15 countries.

KGF is the regional drop off site, and we are expecting to collect several thousand boxes from area churches and organizations. We encourage you to pick up a couple of boxes for your family, grab a brochure on how to pack them, and then go shopping for children in another country. Our goal is 300 boxes! We can do it!

All boxes are due back to KGF by Sunday November 14th. Questions? Contact the office, 250-763-6553 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
