Jake SchroederKGF is presenting three new candidates for the leadership board at our church.  These candidates have been discerned and prayerfully considered.  Here, we introduce Jake Schroeder, a long time KGF member, who has been asked to step back onto the board in the area of Trustee.  Here's Jake's story.

I was born into a family that professed to be Christian, but didn't show or live it out very well.  I was sent to church regularly, but it wasn't until at the age of about 16 that "GOD" became real to me. I was at some evangelistic meetings in our church and a call for any who wanted to be saved was made. I sat in my seat until I was physically lifted out by the Holy Spirit and went forward to give my life to God.  I believe that our lives have a plan, and that God has a way of  working out that plan over time.

He started working thru my future wife Bev, who said if God wasn't in my life then neither was she.  He has also placed me in situations that forced me to get closer to Him. Over the years, many of the ideas I had to let go of, and a lot of retooling had to be done. I'm grateful to God for his grace and patience with me as I have not always been a good child of His.  I am glad he isn't finished with me yet.

I'm exited about the future of our church as never before, because we are building on the foundation that was set some 50 years ago. We are being the church that is open and inclusive to all, wants to make you feel as though you belong and are important.  We want to not only share the love of  Christ, but to  live it with you.

As a long standing member, I believe it is my duty and privilege to set an example.  When I came to this church in 1974, I was young and full of energy and was mentored by godly people over the years. Now after many years I am older(hopefully a bit wiser ).  But I am again full of energy to help so more people will see our church as a place that they can say "I belong here".

As I step into the role of trustee chair, my hope is that I can be helpful in our facility being used and maintained in the best possible way. I look forward to working alongside many of you as we work out the great commision here at KGF church.  May God receive the glory!
