Purpose of Christmas - KGF December Series
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! December is here, decorations are going up, and the count down is on. This is an incredible season to have conversations of spiritual significance, and I hope you would feel comfortable inviting friends, family, neighbors, co-workers to KGF for our Purpose of Christmas series, starting this Sunday. You can pick up more invite cards from the info desk on Sunday.
Purpose of Christmas series
Why is Christmas such a big deal? Can a baby in a stable really make a difference in our lives today? Join KGF this Christmas season as we look at how Christmas addresses our three greatest needs:
Celebration – December 6 (Communion Sunday)
Salvation – December 13 (Kids Christmas Program)
Reconciliation – December 20 (Volunteer Appreciation Day)

Christmas Devotional
In conjunction with this series, KGF gave out a 30 day Christmas devotional entitled “Jesus the Light of the World”. I trust you are reading it, and it is becoming part of your own preparation for the celebration of Jesus’ birth. If you didn’t get one, please grab one this Sunday from the info desk.
Advent Season – Preparation for Christmas
The Advent wreath is a Christian tradition that symbolizes the passage of the four weeks of Advent leading up to Christmas. Advent is a Latin word meaning “Coming”. Beginning with the first Sunday of Advent, the lighting of a candle is accompanied by a Bible reading and prayer. An additional candle is lit during each subsequent week until, the fifth “Christ” candle is lit on Christmas Eve.
November 29th – Love (John 3:16)
December 6th – Joy (Luke 2:8-12)
December 13th – Hope (Psalm 62:5-8)
December 20th – Peace (Luke 2:13-14)
December 24th – Christ (Luke 2:1-7)
