Sierra - YWAM Germany
Dear Church Family.
It is my desire this January 2012 to go on a missions trip to Germany. I have many passions in life, but this is by far one of my greatest. It has been a long awaited goal to travel and over the past year of schooling and working I feel it would be a good time to see the world, before I become an adult. I have an amazing opportunity to do a missions trip through YWAM (Youth With A Mission) over the course of six months.
The trip would include an intensive course in film photography and DTS (DiscipleShip Training) school for 3 and a half months, before I go on outreach to either Ethiopia, Nepal, India, or Czech Republic for two and a half months. The outreach location is not chosen for me till I get there, a team of staff at the Germany base will get to know me and pray over which country it would be most useful for me to go to.How it works, is this, if you are new to YWAM, the first trip you do, you always have to do training before you go on outreach. The training is basically like a camp to encourage a closer relationship with God, and also to delve into the deeper meaning of humanity in order to better serve the community on outreach, whether it is building houses, or digging wells, whatever to aid less fortunate people of different cultures.
My passion for photography is intertwined on outreach with my love for people and God. The skills I will learn as far as art goes, will be to master seeing the beauty of God's creation through the lens and hone the talent He has given me.
If any of you have advice for me from flights, health concerns, and or if you feel led to financial support, it would be greatly appreciated. Even, just the pleasure and opportunity of coming to this church and meeting all you amazing people God has placed in my life is enough. So, if at all you just want to fellowship and talk with me about my plans or provide spiritual guidance and prayer as I battle trusting God with His plans for this new year, travelling to Germany and back, that would be more than sufficient.
