In advance of KGF's 50th Jubilee Celebrations on Thanksgiving Weekend, we have asked some of our longstanding members to reflect back on the past five decades of life and ministry at Kelowna Gospel Fellowship. Here is the first one from Abe Wiens.
I am going to write this as though my wife were still with me. We made our decisions together.
We were not satisfied with the outreach we had into our little community with our former church, and basically it was the language. A group of us started a new church (KGF) and felt well served with the two pastors that came with us, Rev. Enns and Rev. Vogt.
At that time we were a very small group. The Women’s Institute Hall was our first gathering place. We rented numerous other places, and managed to gain new members, mostly people with a Mennonite background.
