Gardom Lake Bible Camp - Summer 2010
Getting to Know Gardom Lake Bible Camp
This past year, KGF became the sixth supporting church of Gardom Lake Bible Camp just outside of Enderby. This is so exciting, as camp is truly a place God seems to work to draw many young people to Himself! I know he did that in my life! As a supporting church, we can come alongside Gardom Lake by sending our kids there for camp, having our youth work there, volunteering ourselves, being a part of fundraising opportunities, promotion and prayer!
Gardom Lake’s mission is to present the gospel of Jesus Christ; educating and discipling youth and their families, by giving them opportunities to see and experience practical Christian living in the beauty of God's creation. The camp is owned by the Mennonite Brethren Conference of BC (one of five MB camps around BC) and is operated by a local Board of Directors. KGF has two people on Gardom’s board, Rachel Erickson and Kai Boggild. The camp is situated on 72 beautiful acres alongside Gardom Lake itself.
July and August see more than 1,000 campers descend on the camp to experience a day, week or even more. The experience is full of fun, friendships and faith. Campers will be challenged to embark on a journey with God and make it real in their own life.
The camp is open for rental use from September through June and sees a lot of people come through for various activities. Facilities include an all-weather Lodge and dining hall, meeting room, 16 all weather cabins, campsites, amphitheatre, playground, climbing wall, ropes course, field and more.
KGF is excited to host Gardom Lake’s fall banquet at our church, so mark the date, Sunday October 24 to get the full picture of this incredible ministry.
I do encourage you to check out their website, www.gardomlake.ca
