My journey with Jesus began early in life. I can’t ever remember thinking of living independently of this relationship. From my earliest memories I understood the implied eternal consequences. Unfortunately there was no joy or peace or freedom in this understanding.
It was the death of our son that led me to engage in this relationship. I discovered that Jesus offered hope and a freedom that could not be found anywhere else. I discovered that He spoke continually and very personally through His Word. He infused life into my parched soul and invited me to share this life with others. He opened up a “new world” of ministry to me, of leading women to that same place of intimacy with Him and helping them discover God’s calling on their lives. One of my greatest joys is being a part of drawing out that calling.
Psalm 18 has been pivotal in my journey. “God made my life complete when I placed all the pieces before Him. God rewrote the text of my life when I opened the book of my heart to his eyes.” (The Message)
I have a tendency to live life with a great deal of “intensity”. Because of that, I find riding a motorbike with my husband, Helmut, often takes the weight of the world off my shoulders! I do hope to bring that intensity to the Board, but in a way that will be life-giving.
God has a glorious future for our church. My sense is that KGF desires to fully embrace the path God has us on no matter how arduous the journey becomes. Thank you for the honor of travelling this path with all of you.
