Dwight Reimer Dwight Reimer KGF Church

I was born and raised in Kelowna and brought up in a Christian home, my father had been a pastor at one time and my mother was one of the first attendees at the Firs Retreat, so church attendance was a regular part of my life.

We used to attend the old People?s Mission Church in downtown Kelowna and it was there at 7 years of age I learned about the eternal nature of heaven and hell through a travelling evangelist. That night with the help of my parents, I received Christ as my personal Saviour.

However, even though I no longer had a fear of hell, I still didn?t have a real personal relationship with Jesus either. When I was in my late teens my brother Sam had renewed his faith and became our youth leader and through his leadership I rededicated my life and was baptized at 17.

I then went on to Bible College (I was in the first graduating class of Okanagan Bible College). Immediately after graduation, I married Cheryl and joined Village Missions, pastoring small rural churches and moved to New Brunswich, all at the age of 21. We were with Village Missions for 16 years, travelling across Canada, ending in BC in 1990.

Then due to a major burnout, I went through a long crisis and period of rebuilding my career, family, and personal life, a journey I am still on.

For that reason one of my favourite Scriptures is Philippians 1:6 “and I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished in the day when Christ Jesus returns.”

My other life verse is Lamentations 3:22-23

“The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning.”

I praise God that I can wake up every morning starting anew with His grace and mercy.
