“I run in the path of your commands, for You have set my heart free.” Ps. 119:32

I used to divide my life in half – my life before our son Jason died, and my life after he died. Now I see my life in thirds – the last third brought about by the death of both my parents in March.  God has been very present in every life stage, but there have been significant differences as to how I’ve related to Him.

The 1st stage was marked by fear, anxiety and guilt. I invited Christ into my life at a very young age, but there was no sense of peace and freedom.

It was only after the death of our third son, that I discovered a very personal God, who had always been very near, and He led me to discover a love for His Word, a heart for others to discover Him, and a way out of the increasing bondage I was experiencing.  My faith soared to new levels and there was such a sweetness to the intimacy I discovered in my relationship with Jesus.  I discovered a passion in serving and leading women, a service that lasted over 25 years.  I still have a huge passion to see God’s people set free to fully live out His calling in their lives.  Sometimes this calls us to take a stand against injustices in our world today….

In October my husband, Helmut, and I sensed God leading us to become a part of KGF.  This has not been an easy decision because it’s filled with so much uncertainty.  But we see God at work in this congregation and believe God has a place of service for us here.  We appreciate the many who have already made us feel so welcome.

Isaiah 61:1-3 has been my compass, my “filter” and source of strength in service.

Christ’s invitation to His church:

The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me (us), because the LORD has anointed me (us), to preach good news to the poor, He has sent me (us) to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favour and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion – to bestow on them a crown  of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.  They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of His splendor.”
