I have been blessed to know Jesus Christ as my Savior and to have Him walk with me for so many years.

My family did not attend church during my childhood.  In my early teens a neighbour invited my brother to Sunday School.  Shortly thereafter, our entire family began attending this church.  It was here that I invited Christ into my life.  During the next five to six years I attended four or five different churches.  It was during Confirmation lessons in one of these churches that I began to come to an understanding of what it meant that Jesus died for my sin that I might have forgiveness of sin, His daily presence in my life and have everlasting life.  At that time I also enrolled in a correspondence course on Exodus.  This began my love of Old Testament studies.

My first contact with the Mennonite Brethren Church was in Terrace, where I received my first regular teaching from the Bible, met people, both young and old, who modeled the Christian walk for me.  I was baptized there in May 1957.

After our marriage, Ruben and I moved to Prince George where we were members of the Westwood M.B. Church for over 46 years. There we went through the various stages of trials, joys and sorrows of raising a family, and the fluctuations of stress in work, education, finances, health and relationships - all the "stuff" that makes up daily life.  One thing we did do consistently was to always attend church on Sunday and to have daily family Bible reading and prayer each morning.  We felt God's peace in stressful situations and saw His provision.  If we had to choose just one word to describe our journey, it would be "WAIT" - wait on the Lord - for direction, healing, provision.  When we look back we can see how the Lord led us and never left us.

We  are thankful for a church that clearly taught the word of God, for the support of a close fellowship, for the opportunity to serve in various ways, for good examples and support by church members for our children.  To be raised in church from childhood is so important.

Now we are in a different stage of life, but still for these reasons, we want to transfer our membership to Kelowna Gospel Fellowship to worship with you, to support the work of the church, to be examples and encouragement to others where we can.  We have enjoyed the fellowship of a Bible Study Care Group for over two years, and are looking forward to seeing God do exciting things here.

"Wait for the Lord; Be strong, and let your heart take courage,"  Psalms 26:14.

"Commit your way to the Lord; trust also in Him and He will do it." Psalms 37:5

"The Lord will accomplish that which concerns me:  Thy lovingkindness, O Lord, is everlasting."  Psalms 138:8.
