I was raised in a good Christian home where I went to church every week.  I was given a good foundation for my faith through Sunday school and my family.

I received Christ as a young child, praying to receive Jesus into my heart by myself in bed one evening. In my early teens at Stillwood Camp on Cultus Lake (then Columbia Bible Camp) I rededicated my life to Christ. I was baptized into the Anabaptist confession of faith in my late teens at the church where I grew up.

Since then God has used many different experiences in my life to draw me closer to him. There have been painful times of great growth and times of gentle slow growth. I choose to believe that no matter what the circumstances or feeling, God is always there.

A verse I’ve taken with me on my journey is Psalm 91:1-2.

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” I would have to say that learning to “dwell” in God’s shelter has and will continue to be an everyday adventure - some days with more success than others.

Having come from a small church where sitting on the sidelines was impossible, I’m excited to be a part of the dynamic family of KGF.  I want to be a part of a community that feels like ‘home’ as well as be involved in creating a ‘homey’ environment for others.
