I was about 5 years old when I received Jesus. I was with my mom when she asked me if I wanted to have Jesus live within me. I said “yes” and I don't remember much after that.
In my late teens I didn't always display a good example of a Christ follower. I always had respect for God but I had hit my comfort zone and was content with where I was at in my Christian life. When I was about 21 I decided it was about time I truly commit myself and get out of my comfortable Christian life.
My favourite verse is Matthew 11:28-30
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me. For I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Mike Penninga is first a foremost a son of God, a husband of Michelle, a father of 3, and a pretty good tennis player. A grad of Trinity Western University and ACTS seminary with a background in broadcast journalism, Mike has a passion for sharing the life changing news of Jesus Christ in understandable and captivating ways. He has been the lead pastor at KGF since March 2009.
