Kay Kay KGF

I grew up in a non-Christian home in Enderby, but went to Gardom Lake Bible Camp for a week during most of my summers. During 7th and 8th grade I went through a very depressive stage of my life where I had a hard time believing that I was loved. The last year I went to camp, the summer before grade 9, I started really understanding what God meant when He said He loved me and what it meant to be a Christian. Initially however, I had a difficult time believing that God would accept me for who I was.

I moved to Prince Edward Island a couple months later and it was a very difficult time for me and my family. There was one night, I remember, when I was so overwhelmed with depression and the burdens from moving across the country that I knew I could not live life by myself anymore. I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior.

I began attending church in PEI, went to the church youth group, and was later baptized as well. My family moved back to BC the following year and I tried to find a biblical church to attend, but couldn’t find a suitable one until I could drive myself to Salmon Arm where I attended the First Baptist Church.

Throughout the years after I accepted Christ, it was very difficult to live with a non-Christian family, and still is to this day; but God remains faithful. My rotary exchange year in Germany after graduating definitely brought me closer to God: having to lean on Him for support and encouragement. No matter where I was and what I was going through, God revealed His steadfast love.

This year, after moving to Kelowna, God has taught me to be more flexible and patient in His timing than ever before. I feel extremely loved even after attending KGF for only a couple months and feel very blessed to become a part of the KGF family!

One of my favorite verses: “This is my command - be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” swcr6hua 1:9
