Mary Mary KGF

I was born in Kelowna in 1936, baptized as a baby and raised in a loving Christian home with elderly parents.  We attended St. Michaels Anglican Church where I was confirmed at 14 years and attended summer camps and youth activities.

After high school I left home for three years to take nurses training, then returned home to marry Dean, start work and to raise our family of three.

I do thank my mother for teaching me the power of prayer and to always have faith and trust the Lord in everything.  What a help that has been in my life.

About 30 years ago we met two Willow Park Church families in a school gym where our children were playing basketball.  They asked us to come to Willow Park Church – we did – and enjoyed it very much.  Then one day “Alpha” was offered so in we went and that “did it”!   It was there I learned so much about Jesus – and He became my personal Friend and Saviour.   Pastor Mike was at our table – we immediately became good friends and soon after he baptized us.

We continued on at Alpha working in the kitchen and have for the past 10 years.  We enjoyed helping out and volunteering in other areas also.  I love to help wherever and whenever I’m needed.

A few months ago we prayed about, and made the decision, that led us to Kelowna Gospel Fellowship where we feel close to Mike and others here.  I rely on the Spirit of God to bless me and uphold me and my loved ones with strength, peace, faith and love.  God has blessed me so many ways all of my life and I am so grateful for that.

Proverbs 3:   “Trust in the Lord with all your heart – seek His will in all you do and He will direct your path.”
