Mel Mel KGF

I was born and raised in a Christian home in New Zealand and made a profession of faith and was baptised at the age of 10.  In my teen years I was rebellious and became an addicted smoker and avoided church.  A severe bout of depression ensued.

Val, my previous girl friend, met up with me again and dragged me off to church where the Lord spoke to me, delivered me from nicotine addiction, and my faith was restored.  We married in 1967.

In 1968 Val and I immigrated to Canada until 1975 when we returned to New Zealand so our children would know their grandparents.  As a family we returned to Vancouver in 1986.   Val and I moved to Kelowna in 2007.

After a time in commerce and business I was given the opportunity, in 1979, to serve with a then new mission organisation International Needs [now called I.N. Network] including leadership stints in New Zealand, Australia, Canada and the USA.  From 1988 through 2008 I had the privilege of serving as the Network’s international President.

This involvement has blessed me and my family immeasurably, particularly working with and getting to know some of the choicest saints not only in the west, but in Africa, Asia, Central America and Eastern Europe.

My favourite scripture is Ephesians 2:10:  “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
