I became saved as a young child of four at the same time my mother got saved. I saw even as a child her transition into a happier person, a new mommy. So, I asked if I could do the same. Over the seven years after, going to a Christian school, living in a Christian home I began to have my doubts. At eleven I told my mom that I wasn't sure about this whole Christ thing. I agreed I would still go to church, but I didn't understand Christ. I didn't understand, if I believed in God why I needed Christ. It was that same year we went to a Kry, (Christian concert) and they had an alter call at the end. I had no idea what was going on, but I ended up walking to the front thinking I don't need to do this, I believe in God. Of course when I went to the front a flood of realization and emotion came over me. It was the grace of Christ, the Spirit moving inside me and the understanding of His purpose and the obvious need for Christ.

I believe when I received Christ at the age of accountability, as opposed to my child-like understanding, my life changed. Since then I have come to recognize there aren't many things in life that are constant. The only thing that never changes is God and the only thing that can truly make me happy is Christ. No matter my situation, I can remain content in Christ.

My favourite verse is Psalms 47:10, "Be still and know that I am God." I believe it pretty much covers everything. Any question I have or prayer requires me to still my heart, to quiet my soul and listen to God's voice. To know God implies a very personal relationship. To walk my Christian walk, in everything I do, I must quiet the distractions of the world, be still and know my Father, fellowship and love Him intimately.
