Tony Campolo tells the story of meeting a woman who’s life was a mess. . . she had been involved in prostitution, lost her kid in a custody battle, had no money, and was recently diagnosed with a serious disease.  In the midst of their conversation, Tony mentioned, “Why don’t you go to church?”  Her response was an incredulous, “Why on earth would I go there, they’d only make me feel worse.”

Interesting how that is the furthest thing from Jesus’ mind when he said “They will know you are my disciples by your love.”  So how did we get here?  And how do we change?
