We are starting a new summer message series entitled “Building on the Rock – Sermon on the Mount”. For 11 weeks, we’ll be looking at the greatest sermon ever given by the greatest preacher ever, Jesus, in Matthew 5 – 7. I don’t know about you, but I want my life to be anchored on the rock. So we’re going to do that by not only listening to Jesus’ teaching, but by putting it into practice in our lives. This series will run us from June 27th until September 5th. We kick it off by looking at the end of the message, Matthew 7:24-29, and see what it means to have a firm foundation on rock instead of sand. Jesus was a carpenter. . . and when it came to building, he knew a little something about quality. There are many metaphors we can use to describe our life, but Jesus used that of a house. Everyone is building a house of some sort. The key is the foundation. Jesus says we have a choice of two foundations – sand or rock. Where is your foundation built?
