When you think of it, being entrusted with a brand new life can be so overwhelming.  And that's why we love it when parents come before God and their church family to symbolically surrender and ask for help in the days / months / years to come.

We love baby dedications, which are better understood as "parent-dedications".  Here, Pastor Mike comes alongside Nathan & Alana Copp, and their baby boy Fraser, and Chris & Erin Siebring, and their daughter Isabelle and son Drew.

Praying Scripture - Ephesians 1

Written by

When we gather as the people of God, two great things happen:

First, we are reminded of the greatness and sovereignty of God.

Second, we are reminded of who we really are in light of who He really is.

In this short scripture based prayer, Pastor Mike draws our eyes to an incredible passage from Ephesians 1.

If you wonder whether God is indeed on His throne, be encouraged by this reading.

KGF is going on the road, to the heart of our city, Kelowna City Park, for a giant celebration service on Sunday June 29th. And you’re invited!

If you’re new to church, or wondering about this man named Jesus, then this is a great first connection point for you.

This will be our third year outside in City Park’s Jubilee Grandstands, and we’ve been blessed with beautiful weather in the midst of God’s great creation, and a fantastic time of celebrating all Jesus has been doing in our lives and in the KGF church family.

18 & Unexpectedly Pregnant - Jenelle's Story

Written by

I've done a lot of interviews over my years. But few match the clarity and power of what you're about to hear. Jenelle was 18 when she found out she was pregnant. Scared and lost, she found her way to the Okanagan Valley Pregnancy Care Center. You'll need tissues for the rest of her story.

Encourage you to support the Pregnancy Care Center's 2014 Baby Bottle Campaign, donating coins / cash / checks to help this amazing ministry reach even more women during their time of need. So far, 800 women have been helped in the first 8 years.

Revelation Prayer - Holy, Holy, Holy!

Written by

Our church family paused during Sunday's service to focus on worship in heaven, as seen in Revelation 4.

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty—

the one who always was, who is, and who is still to come.”

9 Whenever the living beings give glory and honor and thanks to the one sitting on the throne (the one who lives forever and ever), 10 the twenty-four elders fall down and worship the one sitting on the throne (the one who lives forever and ever). And they lay their crowns before the throne and say,

11 “You are worthy, O Lord our God,

to receive glory and honor and power.

    For you created all things,

and they exist because you created what you pleased.”

Celebrating Grads!

Written by

It's a joy to celebrate milestones in life, and that's what Pastor Marcus did with 8 students Sunday, half moving to high school, the other half moving into the next chapter of their lives after grade 12.

There's two places to enjoy a sports event. . . from the stands or on the field.  We can be spectators or participants.  The good news is there are a lot of benefits when we move from the stands and get in the game!

Here is Pastor Mike inviting you into five tangible ways to engage in our June series, "Center Point"

1.  Read Colossians once per week for four weeks.

2.  Journal / write down your reflections.

3.  Personal Reflection Questions online at www.kgfchurch.com

4.  2 by 2 by 2 prayer - at 2 pm pray for 2pm minutes that Jesus would be center of your life 2-day!

5.  Invite others to experience Christ as their Center Point, through KGF ONE @ City Park Sunday June 29.

The full messages are available here: http://kgfchurch.com/messages

Join us Sunday June 8th, 2:30 - 4:00pm in Kelowna City Park at the Jubilee Grandstands, as we gather with fellow believers around the world in celebrating God's work and inviting Him to rule and reign in our generation.

Here's a 2 minute promo video with leaders from around the city.

On The Street - What's your Center Point?

Written by

Pastor Mike takes to the streets of Kelowna to find out what people consider the "center point" of their life. The answers are revealing. How would you answer that important question? Join us for at KGF throughout the month of June as we unpack this important question in our series, "Center Point", based on the book of Colossians. Sundays, 9am & 11am.

We wanted to share about one of our young adults, Katrina Labun, who is heading out for a ten month missions adventure to Nepal!

From August 2014 to July 2015, I will be serving with the Mennonite Central Committee as Communications & Storytelling Assistant in Kathmandu, Nepal, through MCC’s SALT (Serving and Learning Together) program. Over the course of the year, I will be helping MCC Nepal and its eight local partner organizations to improve their communication strategies. These organizations are engaged in vital humanitarian work in Nepal, and with improved communications they will be better able to raise awareness of their impact and garner support for their operations. While on assignment, I will be living with a Nepalese family and attending a Nepalese church.

I am so thrilled to have this opportunity to grow in faith and cultural understanding while using my gifts to serve others. I very much appreciate your support and prayers, both as I prepare to go to Nepal and after I have arrived. In particular, please pray that I would make time to prepare myself spiritually before I leave Canada, that I would make a smooth transition to life in Nepal, that I would find real friends and places of belonging, and that God would prepare opportunities for me to help build his kingdom there. I’m expecting this to be a very challenging, exciting, and educational experience, and I can’t wait to get started!

God bless,

Katrina Labun
