Close to 800 people gathered at Island Stage in Waterfront Park as part of the Global Day of Prayer Sunday June 12th.  The evening included prayer for our city, province and nation, as well as specific prayers for our emergency services workers, health care employees, education and agriculture.  This event brought together leaders of many local churches, who presented Mayor Shepherd and the city with a special, 400 year anniversary copy of the King James version of the Bible to be kept at City Hall.  

The Global Day of Prayer is an initiative started 10 years ago in South Africa, and now includes tens of millions of people around the world.  More pictures online here: http://kgfchurch.com/photos
