I did not grow up in a Christian home, but when I was young I remember going to Vacation Bible School in the summer. It was not until my mom died when I was 11 that, through the influence of my grandmother, I started attending church and became a believer.
Since that time my relationship with the Lord has gone through seasons of being really close to the Lord and seasons of not feeling so close. However, for the last 6 years, growing in my faith has been one of the biggest priorities in my life.
A situation that really helped me grow as a believer was leading a study for new believers. Being able to lead them in Bible studies and share with them how I apply the lessons to my own life was a growing experience. There were women in their teenage years up to their late 40’s in the class. The experience of being transparent with these ladies was amazing.
I am looking forward to becoming a member of KGF and finding my place in the church.
A scripture that means a lot to me is Philippians 1:6 “ And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” Sammi H.
