Very Positive AGM @ KGF – Here’s What Happened

Summary of March 2018 AGM for bulletin

Last Sunday evening, close to 120 people gathered together in the HUB for our Annual General Meeting. It was an evening where we were able to reflect on the past year and look to what 2018 may bring. Over the course of the evening, many things were discussed and approved.

We welcome the following gentlemen to our board for three-year terms: Kevan Gilbert (Chair), Todd Ringness (Secretary), Robert Bruce (Trustee) and Brian Penner (Spiritual Vision & Direction). We are grateful for their wiliness to serve in this capacity. We were able to take some time to thank Wayne Laurie, Mel Metzger, Bob Harkness and Gerda Vogt for their service on the Board for the past three years. Shea Nicholson has also asked to step away from his role on the board after serving for four years as he will be focussing his attention on other areas of ministry where he can serve alongside his wife, Lindsay.

Our Board Treasurer took some time to review the finance of 2017 and we were grateful to see how God provided for our every need. The membership in attendance approved the proposed 2018 operating budget as presented and we look forward to seeing where God leads us as we continue to listen to his direction.

As a follow up to our October Congregational Meeting, those in attendance were given an update regarding the possibility of a second-floor expansion. We have commissioned the architectural firm of Architecturally Distinct Solutions Inc., to proceed with phase one of this project which includes schematic design and design development. Further input from staff and users of this space will be gathered as we look at the best use of the proposed additional space. We expect to have a special congregational meeting in late summer or early fall to review the Board’s investigation.

If you have any questions about the meeting, please feel free to talk to any of our Board members or Executive Team (Pastor Mike, Pastor Levi, Jeanne Acheson).
