Thank you for your prayers and support for 2017 it was an excellent year for GLBC!
We had just over 800 Spiritual decisions – either first time commitments or recommitting to going deeper with God. This summer our theme is – “To the Fullest” – which is drawn from Ephesians 3:19 “to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”
We would love to see your kids, grandkids, and friend’s kids come out to camp to make new friends, learn new skills, have a lot of fun, and learn about our Creator.
One of the keys that makes camp great, is great staff – please pray and think about being a part of our Summer team, either one week or the whole summer. What staff do we need? Life Guards, Media Tech, maintenance helper, Kitchen helpers, chapel/worship leader, and cabin leaders.
Another thing we work hard at is to keep our campers cost down. To do this we have our annual RUN, WALK, CYCLE on May 12th. Come talk to us about helping out and raising funds, or talk to one of our board members (Eric Wiens or David Wiens). If you can’t participate, you can sponsor someone who is. This is a fantastic weekend of connecting with the GLBC community and we would love to see you out!
We are also having a Maintenance Matters weekend on April 20th and 21st. We have had a long snowy winter and extremely slow Spring which has put us behind in our preparations. We would love a team of people from your church to help with projects around our camp. We will need help with building projects, repair work, chain sawing, cleaning, painting, and gardening.
Maintenance Matters weekend begins on Friday at 6:30 pm to line up and start projects. We will enjoy a hearty snack at 9pm and camp fire for those that want to join in. You are encouraged to stay overnight so we can continue projects on Saturday. We start with Breakfast @ 8am with Lunch and Supper to follow.
I would love to connect with you after the service if you have questions. We will have a sign-up sheet if you wish to get involved.
Thanks and God bless
Rikk Kieft, GLBC
