On October 30, 1960, a group of 42 people met in the Kelowna Women’s Institute Hall for Worship. That was the beginning of what we now know as Kelowna Gospel Fellowship Church. Reverend Jake Enns and Reverend John Vogt were the first ministers
The catalyst for forming KGF was really two-fold. The founding members wanted a church where they could invite the community, to create a church that was evangelical at its heart. And if they were going to do that, it needed to be a church that spoke English, because that was the language of the culture around them.
For several years, the church met in rented facilities in downtown Kelowna. The congregation purchased their first building in 1966 on Ethel and Stockwell. A decade later, in 1975, the congregation purchased land at the corner of Gordon & Casorso, with the current facility completed in February 1979
Since that time, KGF has been home to an incredible season of ministry, from kids to youth, young adults to adults. God’s hand of blessing has been on this family in a powerful way, and it’s exciting to see where he’s leading us in this new chapter! We’d love to have you a part of that.
