Works – Ian Sharp

James 2:14-26

We believe something when we act as if it were true.”– Dallas Willard.

We all struggle with this. We say we believe in God but often our actions reflect a belief in a God who is distant, apathetic, or not there at all. What might be different if we acted always in line with our beliefs?

My son last week asked for an eggless omelet. Do we do the same when it comes to faith? Do we ask for a faith that requires no change to our hearts; a faith that allows us to simply “believe” but not act as if it were true? I sure do sometimes.

Works are essential ingredients to good faith, like eggs in an omelet.

What works should our faith bring out of us?
