A Good News People

A Good News People
Matthew 28:18-20

The "good news" was never meant to be kept—it was meant to be shared.  But that can be both challenging and frightening if we don't really know what Jesus meant when He gave this mandate to His disciples.  I'm guessing that when Jesus gave His first followers the imperative to “Go and make disciples,” that they might have been challenged and frightened too so we're not alone!

Throughout this fall season, we are reminding ourselves of what our primary mission is and how we can go about pursuing it.   That means living intentionally, refusing to drift through life while people around us desperately need the hope of Jesus.  It means living incarnationally, carrying the presence, compassion, and love of Jesus into our homes, workplaces, neighbourhoods, and relationships.  And it means living inclusively, opening our hearts and extending the invitation of the gospel to anyone and everyone.  We are not simply people who have good news—we are called to be Good News people. The mission is urgent.  The opportunity is all around us. The question is: Will we go?
