Acts 1:8

Have you ever spent enough time around someone that you started picking up their mannerisms, their phrases, or even the way they saw things? How does that happen? The people and places that fill our lives are shaping the kind of people we become.

At Pentecost, the Spirit comes upon God’s people with the imagery of God’s presence filling a house. Throughout the New Testament, God’s people are described as the dwelling place of His Spirit, being formed together around Jesus. As we live by the Spirit, we are being shaped into a people who not only carry the good news of Jesus, but begin to embody it.
