At Thanksgiving, we tend to count our blessings...family, health, provision, friendships, homes, and the many good material things before us.  This is appropriate and right but there's so much more!  Ephesians 1:1–14 invites us to look beyond even these wonderful gifts to blessings that are infinitely greater and eternal.  In Christ, we have been chosen, adopted, redeemed, forgiven, given an inheritance, and sealed with the Holy Spirit.  These blessings cannot be taken away by changing circumstances, declining health, financial uncertainty, or the loss of earthly possessions.  The good news of the gospel is that God has blessed us with far more than what we can see or hold in our hands.  In Christ He has given us Himself, a new identity, a secure future, and every spiritual blessing in Christ.  This Thanksgiving, let’s not only count what God has given us, but celebrate what He has given us in Christ and share it with others.  See you Sunday!
