Do We Have the Father's Heart?
Have you ever lost something of great value? What did you feel and what did you do? My guess is you did something! You searched...and looked under things...and retraced your steps...and possibly even panicked at points! In Luke 15, Jesus shares three stories about things that are lost and the relentless pursuit to find them. A lost sheep, a lost coin, and ultimately, two lost sons reveal something profound about the heart of God, that He is a Father who searches, pursues, welcomes, restores, and celebrates when the lost are found. It's one thing to know that our heavenly Father is like this, but it's entirely another thing to share His heart. Do we value what He values? Do we pursue the people He pursues? Do we celebrate when those who are far from God come home?
As we dig into the mission Jesus left for us in making disciples, it begins by sharing the Father's heart. I look forward to seeing you Sunday!
